CIE Students Joined the Volunteer Group of National Fight against the Epidemic
From: CIE Student Affairs Office      By: Wang Ruofan & Xue Linqing      Date: 2020-03-04

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the students who stayed at home joined the volunteer group fighting against the epidemic. When NWAFU spares no efforts in the prevention and control of the epidemic, the students make their commitment to the national movement, too.

“Nice to meet you. Where are you from? Could you please make your registration here?”, these words are repeatedly spoken out by Gao Yuchen, a CIE students who now served as a toll operator volunteer at the south toll gate of Wuwei city of Anhui province. He said to us, “ As a college student, I must make my contribution to the fight. I firmly believe we will win the battle with our joint-efforts.”

The prevention and control of the disease in the residential community is more demanding than other places. Many CIE students took their responsibilities as the volunteers. Jin Keke from CIE Bio-tech class 1803 worked as a gatekeeper of her community in Zhengzhou of Henan province; Liu Yarui from CIE Biology class 1902 took the job of monitoring the passersby’ temperature in a local community of Kaifeng in Henan province; Liu Zeyu from CIE Bio-tech class 1801 worked as volunteer at the station for prevention and control of the novel coronavirus in Jinan of Shandong; Duan Zichen from CIE Environmental Engineering class 1901 helped the local community workers in Xingtai of Hebei province; while Xu Yuan from Biology class 1901 made videos for publicizing the information of health care.

Yang Yang from CIE Bio-tech class 1704 was in his internship in Ankang Municipal government office when the epidemic broke out. He then called for a fund raising among all the students there for backing up the Central Hospital of Ankang city to fight against the epidemic. As long as the appeal known, 5,350 were raised in just a few hours. Yang Yang, on be half of all college students in internship, attended the donation ceremony.

The nation’s prosperity lies in the growth of the young generation. Ambitious, capable and responsible when the youth are, can the nation moves forward and prospers. CIE students all over the country are showing their determination and making their full commitment to the national movement. We are proud of them!
