Charity Sale Held by CIE
From: Student Affairs Office      By: Liu Yuan      Date: 2018-11-09

At 8 o'clock in the morning on November 3, the square of western district on south campus welcome a group of students as busy as bees.  After a week of advertisement, item collection and preparation, the Second Charity Sale of Youren College co-hosted by CIE, College of Food Science and Engineering and the College of Enology officially kicked off. Themed on “ A Little Love, A Big Future”, the sale appeals the students to care for the lives of children in remote areas.

As early as 8:30, a variety of fine items had been in place. There were soft and lovely plush toys, delicate jewelry, and a wide range of books and magazines. With rich and exquisite items and fair prices, the charity sale soon attracted groups of students. The students enjoyed shopping and the vendors patiently made introductions, which soon made the square a lively bazaar. At the same time, many students actively participated in the postcard-sending activity. They put down sincere wishes and cordial encouragement on the beautiful postcards that are to be sent to the children of the Second Middle School of Nangqian County, Yushu Prefecture, Qinghai Province. We believe that the card receivers will be greatly inspired by the love and encourage from the senders. Zhang Lingzhu, a staff member of the college, said: "This year's love charity sale is satisfactory both in scale and quality. The students helped us raise considerable funds for the children in remote areas.”

It is reported that the fund raised by this charity bazaar will be used to purchase winter supplies for the children of the Second Middle School of Yuqian County, Yushu Prefecture, to help them withstand the winter cold.
