Second Teaching Seminar of College of Innovative Experiment Ends With Success

  On 12th, September, 2010 Second Teaching Seminar of Innovative Experiment College was held to further teaching reform and contribute to the innovation of teaching model. Principals of Science College, Life-Science College, Information Engineering College, Department of Foreign Languages and Department of Ideology Education were present at the meeting, along with estimate 20 teachers responsible for the teaching of primary courses. Professor Zhao Zhong, the Executive Vice President of our university and Chen Yulin, the Director of Academic Affairs Office attend the meeting as well. On the seminar, both leaders and teachers present their achievement and problem in teaching via analyzing two-year experience in teaching reform. Meanwhile, they also exchange personal experience and put forward constructive proposals for the smooth progress of teaching reform.  ����
  At the meeting, the scientific function of curriculum for the cultivation of innovative talents was mainly discussed, and the new plan and new thoughts about the curriculum content and reform were raised, too.
  All people present discussed and exchange ideas of how to improve students’ innovative abilities, how to build up their capacity to study and do research independently. They all agree that teachers should shift Instilling-model teaching to autonomous-leaning model, for the perfect integration of theory and practice. At the same time, more interaction between teachers and students, more space for independent minds are supposed to be given in teaching. The students are encouraged to make full use of online resources for independent study and practice. Last, the construction of teaching team was involved in the discussion and some valuable suggestion was offered.
  Generally speaking, this teaching seminar makes clearer the direction of curriculum content reform, and put forward the new thoughts concerning teaching method of all basic courses, which will definitely function well for the success in organizing teaching activities in 2010 autumn and accelerating the progress of teaching reform.
