In the golden autumn, 100 millennium generation freshmen full of enthusiasm and expectation gathered at Youren College, opening a new chapter of their life. This generation can be described as a new force in the 21st century and a pioneering team in the new century. All CIE staff are highly involved in the orientation week, hoping to help the freshmen adapt to the new life and tie up the first button of their life.

Parents’ Meeting--- Bridging the College and Family

On the afternoon of August 25th, CIE successfully held the Year 2018 students parents' meeting in the multimedia classroom of our college. Li Haihua, Deputy Party Secretary of CIE, Liu Tianjun, Associate Dean of CIE, and Wang Xiaoping, Associate Dean of CIE, participated in the meeting, responding to the inquiries of student parents as to the life, study, development and other aspects of studying at NWAFU.

Professor Liu Tianjun pointed out that “Since its establishment in 2008, CIE has always adhered to the moral education associated with professional education. Centered on the quality of talent cultivation, innovation and educational and teaching reform, we aim at making top-notch talents with broad knowledge, integrated competence, international outlook, sustainable competitiveness, research ability, innovative spirit and sense of social responsibility. Li Haihua, Party Secretary of CIE, interpreted the moral education model of Youren College and the students management system. She attached great importance to the College-Family collaboration. It is expected that parents and colleges will work together to strengthen the relationship and help students make greater progress. Parents inquired about majors, employment, recommendation for graduate study and the policy of overseas study tour. Each question was responded with details and full explanation, eliminating the confusion of the students parents and further their understanding of CIE’s educational model. 

“The first-class knowledge makes first-rate talent.” This is the CIE expectation to the new students. The eagerness to truth and the dream of being national backbone must be fulfilled with the support of college and students’ parents. This parents’ meeting will bridging the communication of college and students’ parents, laying solid foundation for the students’ development.

Orientation Meeting--Initiating a New Life Chapter

On the afternoon of August 26th, CIE held the 2018 freshmen meeting at Youren College, which was full of laughter and applause. Li Haihua, the Party Secretary of the college, visited each class and introduced them the teaching philosophy. CIE created a lively atmosphere of cultural life for the freshmen by using the lovely club centers. CIE Associate Dean, Liu Tianjun emphasized that new students should not only put learning and scientific research at the forefront, but also improve their own quality. To grow to be a talent with integrated abilities and qualities. Associate Dean, Wang Xiaoping told the new students to take care of themselves in the military training. Every freshman was greatly touche by the loving care of CIE heads.

The class assistants shared with the new students their suggestions on adapting to college life, making sensible academic plan and set feasible life goals, hoping the freshmen to initiate a new life chapter. As the form teachers presided over class meetings, the freshmen elected the deputy leaders in accordance with the principle of fairness and justice, laying the foundation for the establishment of the formal class committee.

The college heads, form teachers and class assistants showed their strong support and loving care to the freshmen, which means significantly to the new students.
