| | On December 31st, 2010, the First College English Typewriting Contest was held in the computer lab of College of Information Engineering. Two teachers in charge of relative course were invited to serve as judges. 146 students of grade 2010 from our college participated in this contest.
All contestants were required to input a series of English characters in 5 minutes, which could be repeated for individual satisfaction. The final score took from the best result. At the announcement of beginning, all contestants made their fingers no cease on the keyboard, racing against the time. With the consummate skill,Chen Lingqiu, a Biotechnology Major of Base Class won the crown with the final score of 327.
To motivate the passion the students in computer learning, our college commended all contestants on their satisfactory performance. Awards in different class were granted, including 3 First Prize, 7 Second Prize and 20 Honour Prize.
Our college students' strong ability of operating computer found its manifestation in this contest. Meanwhile, the passion of learning computer science was lighten up again, which in turn stimulate their interest in this kind of contest. |
