Perception and Experience Gained by Serving as Village Director Assistant
From: BOWENE ditorial Office           By:      Date: 2011-03-30

It has been half a year since I served as village director assistant in Village Dong.

Gone was the Half of serving time which left me the unforgettable memories of my life. The excitement at the news of being selected seemed still running through my mind. I have grown to a sophisticated and adaptive village director assistant, out of an innocent and green student knowing little about the running of the relative affairs. What counted most was my passion to this job inspired in practice. Looking back to the old days , no matter hardships on the way or the development and achievement gained, I found my heart full of feelings. It is serving as village director assistant that offers me so great opportunity for my self-development in practice.

The question that how to function as a qualified village director assistant kept haunting in my heart and gained my ceasingly reflection, which gradually becomes less ambiguous with the increasing experience in the work. In general, being a qualified assistant requires the following qualities: to promote the Party Policies punctually, to convey villagers information efficiently, to assist the village leaders wholeheartedly and to strengthen the communication between our university and villages-served. I take advantage of every opportunity to practice the principle above, performing real deeds.

First, I inquired of the village leaders as much as possible about the general situation of the village, to better assist leaders in my spare time. In addition, I paid visited to many villagers to look into their needs and thinking before presenting those information organized to village leaders. More specifically, elderly people of no family support and behind-children were both in need of tender care and attention, so that who enjoyed the visit I organized on New Year's Day. Besides, I tried my best to organize many activities for villagers, like organizing classmates to offer villagers compulsory teaching at weekends, house cleaning and propagating the knowledge of flu-prevention to the villagers at the coming of winter.

It is true that every activity requires great effort, even a simple one needs full preparation. The design, communication and recruitment of volunteers were time-consuming. On the other side, I got my ability improved in the process. Detailedly, my abilities to organize, communicate and negotiate have been developed. What's more, the contact with village leaders and villagers in every activity enable myself to know better about the society and current situation of countryside, which was not available on class but necessary to college students.

Last semester village director assistant business came to a conclusion with the coming of the new work in new semester. I am confident that, with the accomplishment I made before, I will benefit more and develop further in the practice of serving the village with my effort and wholehearted work.
