Class of Genetics Given By Professor He Beiru

    At 8:00 on the morning of April 27, professor He Beiru was lecturing on Genetics to students of Biotechnology Base Class 091 from College of Innovation and Experiment. Both multimedia illustration and blackboard writing were adopted to aid the open teaching class.

     First, Professor He guided the students a brief review on key points and theories learnt last time. Then, he detailed the Heredity of Bacteria and Viruses which was comprised of its research significance, genetic analysis virus of bacteriophage and generic analysis of bacteria.

    Owing to the distinguished features of Genetics which was so abstract and hard to understand, teacher’s instruction dominated the class teaching, associated with interactive class activity, such as clash and negotiation on sharp questions. Last, professor He scheduled the teaching content of next class. Students were to discuss in groups about the Heredity of Bacteria and Viruses for their full comprehension. Obviously, he advocated and practiced student-centered class teaching which would function better than traditional teaching method.

    This open teaching class was not a specially designed class but a mirror of any common one, which achieved great success in informing students knowledge. Professor He contributed to the smooth going of class with his careful spirit, precise diction and inspiring quetions.
